Torcy

Torcy is a village in the Saone-et-Loire department of Burgundy in eastern France, set in the southern Morvan natural park at the edge of the wine country that extends south toward Beaujolais and the Cote Maconnaise. The countryside here is deeply rural and authentically Burgundian, with forests, rivers, and limestone escarpments creating a landscape of considerable natural variety. The area is excellent for cycling along the Canal du Centre and the paths that traverse the Morvan, and the nearby town of Le Creusot has industrial heritage museums of considerable interest. Torcy offers a genuine escape into the French countryside at its most unpretentious and rewarding, within reach of Burgundy’s wine villages and the Michelin-starred tables of Beaune.
