Chalet Saulire

Chalet Saulire stands among snowy firs in Courchevel 1850, all honey-coloured timber and deep balconies, with the peaks rising behind. At night the balconies glow, and out on the terrace a wood-fired hot tub steams in the snow.

Inside, the living room is built around a double-sided glass fireplace, with grey sofas on one side and leather armchairs on the other. A long dining table sits in front of a glass-walled wine cellar, so dinner comes with a view of the bottles. A second sitting room is good for films and naps. For a luxury chalet rental in Courchevel, it has the full après-ski list.

That list continues downstairs, with an indoor pool lit by strips of light, a separate hot tub in black marble, a hammam and a cinema with velvet sofas. Chalet Saulire sleeps fifteen guests in eight bedrooms with eight bathrooms. Upper rooms sit under dark rafters, one with its own fireplace, and the main bathroom is in marble with a freestanding tub. There's also a bunk room for children.

Courchevel 1850 is the highest and best known of the Courchevel villages, part of the Three Valleys ski area in the French Alps. The chalet suits big families, ski groups with children, and anyone who wants the pool and cinema waiting at the end of the day.
