Punta Cana sits where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean, at the easternmost point of the Dominican Republic. It is less a single town than a run of coast, and the best of it lies inside two private communities a few minutes south of Punta Cana International Airport. Puntacana Resort and Club is the original: fifteen thousand acres of beach, reef and fairway, with the Corales and La Cana golf courses and the villas of Tortuga Bay, whose interiors were designed by Oscar de la Renta. Cap Cana, just beyond it, is built around a deep-water marina, the white sand of Juanillo Beach and Punta Espada, the Jack Nicklaus course laid out along the cliffs.
Our Punta Cana collection is made up of villas inside those gates: twenty-nine homes in Puntacana Resort and Club, most of them in Tortuga Bay, Hacienda and Corales, and ten in Cap Cana. They run from four bedrooms to eleven, nearly all with a private pool and outdoor living under a covered terrace, and many come with a housekeeper, a cook or a full staff. Guests have the use of the community’s beaches, beach clubs, restaurants and golf, which is what separates a villa here from a house elsewhere on the coast.

It is warm all year. What changes is the rain, the wind and how far ahead you need to book.
December to AprilThe dry season and the high season: steady trade winds, days around 28 degrees and very little rain. Christmas, New Year, Presidents’ week and Easter book first, often a year ahead.
May to JulyWarmer and more humid, with short afternoon showers and calmer seas. Rates ease, the beaches are quieter and the larger villas are easier to secure for family groups.
August to NovemberThe Atlantic hurricane season, with the greatest risk from late August to October. Many weeks pass untouched and rates are at their lowest, but book with flexible terms and travel insurance.

Is Punta Cana safe for a villa holiday?
The villas in our collection are inside Puntacana Resort and Club and Cap Cana, both private gated communities with controlled entry and their own security. Guests move between the villa, beach, golf and restaurants without leaving the gates, and transfers from the airport take ten to fifteen minutes. As anywhere, we suggest using arranged transport for trips outside the communities.
What is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
December to April is the dry season, with the most reliable weather and the highest demand. May to July is quieter and better value. Late August to October carries the highest hurricane risk, so book those weeks with flexible terms.
What is the difference between Cap Cana and Puntacana Resort and Club?
They are neighbouring gated communities south of the airport. Puntacana Resort and Club is the older of the two, home to Tortuga Bay, the Corales and La Cana golf courses and a long reef-protected beach. Cap Cana is newer and larger, centred on its marina, Juanillo Beach and the Punta Espada golf course. Both give villa guests access to their beaches and clubs.
Do the villas come with staff?
Many do. Housekeeping is usual, and a number of homes include a cook, a butler or a full team. Where a chef is not included we can arrange one, along with provisioning before you arrive. Each listing sets out what is included.
How far are the villas from the airport?
Punta Cana International Airport sits between the two communities. Puntacana Resort and Club is about ten minutes away and Cap Cana about fifteen. We arrange private transfers for every booking on request.
Can we hold a wedding, birthday or group celebration at a villa?
Several of the larger homes, from seven to eleven bedrooms, suit milestone birthdays, family reunions and small weddings. Events need the owner’s and the community’s approval in advance, so tell us your plans when you enquire and we will point you to the right houses.
