Villa Higuey

Villa Higuey is a two-story villa situated inside Puntacana Resort and Club, a private gated community in Punta Cana set among tropical gardens and golf fairways. The exterior is white stucco under a dark brown hip roof with a wide second-floor wraparound balcony supported by carved wood posts, surrounded by tall coconut palms and a manicured green lawn. The rear of the property centers on a thatched-roof rancho structure positioned beside a gravel terrace shaded by established palms. Inside the rancho, a round wicker coffee table sits at the center of rattan armchairs and chaise lounges with white cushions. A pool with blue mosaic tile runs along the side of the lawn, enclosed by hedging with open golf views beyond. A hammock hangs between palms at the garden edge.

The dining room is a generously proportioned space with a long live-edge wood table seating ten, surrounded by tan leather armchairs. A rope-wrapped chandelier suspends above the center of the table, fitted with amber bulbs. Colorful framed artworks hang in rows along the walls between wood-framed sliding glass doors, and the room opens directly to the terrace and pool on one side and the kitchen on the other.

The kitchen has cherry-toned wood cabinetry with black granite countertops, a large prep island with bar seating, and an opening cut through to the living area. Track lighting runs the ceiling above the counters. Cookware, a stand mixer, and full appliances are set into the counter runs, and an overhead range hood in warm brass finishes the central cooking line.

The primary bedroom rises to a high vaulted ceiling with exposed honey-toned wood tongue-and-groove planking and thick beams running to the peak. A carved mahogany bed frame with a shaped headboard holds white linen bedding. Two white-upholstered footstools sit at the base. Bank of French doors with warm mahogany frames opens to the second-floor balcony with palm views. A bright blue canvas painting hangs above the headboard. The connected bathroom has multi-tone mosaic tile walls, a raised soaking tub in a wood-surround platform, and a wide mirror above a wood vanity.
