Villa Arenas

Villa Arenas is a two-story oceanfront estate within the Corales community at Puntacana Resort and Club, positioned on an elevated lot above the Atlantic with views of the rocky coastline from the upper terraces. The exterior is white stucco under a low-pitched roof with green-painted entrance gates set into a gravel drive flanked by date palms and dense tropical hedging. Eight bedrooms, ten-plus bathrooms, sleeps sixteen. This home is located in Punta Cana and offered by The Luxury Rental.

The rear of the property centers on a long rectangular pool finished in light blue tile, set into cream-colored travertine paving. A covered loggia with six tall white columns and a painted wood ceiling runs along the back face of the house, enclosing a large teak sectional with white cushions and matching teak sun loungers placed along the pool deck. The lawn beyond the pool stretches to the cliff edge, and the view from there takes in the open Atlantic and the rocky outcroppings below.

The kitchen is large and fitted in a classic plantation style. White shaker-panel cabinets run floor to ceiling along three walls, with brushed-nickel hardware throughout. The floor is covered in a bold black-and-white encaustic cement tile in a geometric cross pattern. A professional stainless range hood, double stainless refrigerators, and a wide island with a stainless sink and white stone counter complete the workspace.

The main sitting room is arranged in a British colonial style. A deep red armchair, a white linen sofa, and a settee upholstered in botanical-print fabric surround a low jute rug. Blue-and-white Chinese ceramic vases are positioned on a painted cabinet near tall plantation-shuttered windows. Framed antique maps of the Caribbean hang on the plaster wall behind the seating. An interior hallway is anchored by a large antique carved-wood architectural panel painted sage green, mounted above a heavy reclaimed-wood bench.

The bedrooms carry this character through. A primary suite has a tall dark mahogany four-poster bed with a carved palm-leaf headboard, red-patterned ikat accent pillows, and a bench upholstered in floral fabric at the foot. Plantation shutters filter light from the garden. Upper-floor rooms have opened shuttered windows that look directly over the pool to the ocean.
