Villa Jazmin

Villa Jazmin is a Cap Cana villa with a heated pool in Punta Cana, a contemporary single-level house a three to five minute walk from the beach. Arrival sets the tone: a palm-lined path, lit from below at night, leads to a pair of tall wooden doors. Three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, sleeps eight. The house reads as calm and modern from the first step inside.

Behind the house, a dark-tiled pool is heated and edged with low white daybeds, with a hot tub alongside. A louvered pergola covers an outdoor lounge with cream sofas and woven chairs set on the lawn. Further back, among the palms, a concrete fire pit is framed by long stone benches, the obvious place to end the evening. A barbecue completes the outdoor kitchen setup. Palms and a tall green hedge wrap the garden, giving the outdoor areas real privacy, and at night soft lighting turns the pool and the fire pit into the center of the evening.

Inside, the rooms are white and pale stone, with soft curved arches and warm light along the walls. The living area centers on a long curved white sofa, and above the dining table hangs a large black and white artwork of a rhinoceros. A colorful abstract canvas brings the only bold color. Glass walls slide fully open to the terrace, so the living room and the pool deck become one space when the weather allows. Floors are pale stone throughout, and tall arched niches, sculptural lamps and potted trees keep the look simple and warm rather than stark.

The dining table is a long oak table for ten, set under a row of white globe pendants and lined with upholstered stools. The kitchen is oak and white, with a central island and bar stools for breakfast. There are two kitchens in the house, which makes chef service easy to run without disturbing the main rooms. A Bose sound system carries music through the living areas. Breakfast can also be served outside on the terrace, looking over the pool and the palms.

The primary suite has a king bed, an interior garden and an outdoor soaking tub. The second bedroom has two double beds and the third has a king. All three bedrooms are en suite, with bathrooms finished in travertine and simple stone basins. Light-filled corridors and wooden doors link the bedrooms, and each room keeps the same soft palette of white, stone and natural wood.

The house is in Cap Cana, at the southern end of Punta Cana, close enough to the sand to walk. Daily housekeeping, chef service and a Dominican breakfast are included.
