Villa Guayacan
About the villa
Villa Guayacan is a Cap Cana villa rental in Punta Cana, a single-level house set beside a fairway of the Punta Espada golf course. Its defining feature is the roofline: tall pavilions of palm thatch on dark timber columns, open on every side and arranged around a freeform pool. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, sleeps six.
The pool curves across a deck of pale travertine, with a round hot tub set into one end and sun loungers lined up along the edge. Clipped lawns, bougainvillea and coconut palms close in on the garden, so the water feels tucked away from the fairway beyond. A smaller thatched pavilion sits at the far side of the deck, and the paths between the buildings run through flowering beds. Ceiling fans turn slowly under the thatch, and there is shade for anyone who wants a break from the sun.
The main pavilion holds the living spaces under one high thatched ceiling. Honey wood floors run underfoot, and blue sofas with striped cushions are grouped around low wooden tables. Woven armchairs and potted palms fill the corners, and because there are no walls the breeze and the view of the pool carry straight through. In the middle, a round white table sits under a cluster of rattan lanterns, a spot for card games or a late coffee.
Meals happen at a long dark wood table set out under the same roof, with woven chairs along both sides. The kitchen is white, with turquoise tile across the backsplash and a counter lined with rattan bar stools, and it opens to the dining area so whoever is cooking stays part of the conversation. A second table for casual meals stands near the pool. Over breakfast, the view runs from the table straight across the deck to the hot tub and the palms.
The primary suite has a king bed under a wood beamed ceiling, a sitting area, a walk-in closet and its own door out to the pool. Its bathroom has an open-air shower screened by bamboo poles, with walls of coral stone. The second bedroom has two queens. The third, also with two queens, is in a separate guest house in the garden, a good choice for friends or older children who like a little distance. Every bathroom is finished in the same warm coral stone and timber. Ceilings in the bedrooms are lined in wood and woven palm, and the floors keep the same honey tone as the pavilions.
The setting is Cap Cana, at the southern end of Punta Cana, with the beach a few minutes away by car. Daily housekeeping is included. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, sleeps six. What sets Villa Guayacan apart is how fully it commits to thatch, a Caribbean house built entirely around its pool, and for outdoor living, few villas with a hot tub in Punta Cana can match it.
