Les Gets Chalet Rentals in France
Les Gets is a proper village rather than a purpose-built resort, a cluster of wooden chalets on a pass between two valleys, with the Mont Blanc massif in view on clear days. It's part of the Portes du Soleil, which links a long chain of ski areas across the French and Swiss border. In summer it turns into a mountain-bike town. Our three chalets each have six bedrooms and sleep up to 14.

When to go
The Alps own December to April. The Christmas and February school holiday weeks go first, while January and March tend to be quieter.

Is Les Gets good for young children?
Very. The slopes right above the village are gentle, with lots of green and blue runs, and the ski schools are used to tiny skiers. It's a family resort first. Off the snow there's sledging, an ice rink in winter and a museum of mechanical music, full of old music boxes and fairground organs, which children tend to love.
Is it linked to Morzine?
Yes. Les Gets and Morzine share a ski area, linked by lifts across the valley between them, so you can ski from one to the other. By road they're close too, around 10 minutes. Morzine is bigger and livelier in the evening. From both you can head further into the Portes du Soleil on the same pass.
What's Les Gets like in summer?
Green, quiet and busy with bikes. The lifts carry mountain bikes up to a large bike park, with trails from gentle family runs to steep downhill. Walkers have plenty of paths too, plus a lake for swimming nearby. Evenings are long and cool. Several chalets come into their own then, with terraces facing the mountains.
