Luxury Villa Rentals in South Africa

Pick a season, then a bay on the Atlantic Seaboard, and we will match you with a private villa in Cape Town.

Choosing Your Base: Luxury Villa Rentals in South Africa by Area

All of our South African homes are on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard. Each number on the map marks an area, so tap one to see its villas.

Mountain at Your Back, Ocean at Your Feet

Few cities put you this close to wild nature. On the Atlantic Seaboard, the Twelve Apostles rise straight up behind the houses, and the beaches below are white and wide.

Picture January. The days are long and bright, the evening light lasts for hours, and you are watching the sun sink into the Atlantic from your terrace with a glass of local wine. Now picture September. The air is cooler, the crowds have gone, and southern right whales are moving along the coast.

A villa makes this city easy. You can come back from a morning hike up Lion’s Head, have lunch by the pool and head out again for sundowners. Our homes sleep 8 to 12 guests, so families and groups of friends have space to spread out.

When you look at luxury villa rentals Cape Town, the Atlantic Seaboard is the address most guests ask for. Our nine villas are split between Clifton and Camps Bay and the quieter stretches around Fresnaye and Llandudno.

Area 1 of 2

Clifton and Camps Bay: Beaches and Sunset Terraces

Clifton’s four small beaches sit below steep slopes, separated by granite boulders and sheltered from much of the summer wind. Camps Bay, just south, has a long palm-lined beachfront with cafés and restaurants across the road, and the Twelve Apostles behind. This is the place for beach days, late sunsets and dinner on foot. It suits families, couples and groups who want the city’s best-known coastline right outside. The airport is about 25 minutes from Clifton by car. We have six villas here, including Villa Amahle in Camps Bay, with views toward the Clifton beaches.

Area 2 of 2

Fresnaye, Llandudno and the Atlantic Seaboard

Fresnaye climbs the slopes above Sea Point, with sweeping views over the ocean and the city close by. It is handy for the V&A Waterfront and the restaurants of Sea Point. Llandudno is further south along the coast, a small, secluded bay surrounded by boulders and fynbos, with a beach popular with surfers. Homes here suit guests who want privacy and big views, with the bustle of Camps Bay a short drive away. We have three villas in Fresnaye, Llandudno and elsewhere on the Atlantic Seaboard.

Beyond the City: Our Safari Lodges

Cape Town pairs beautifully with time in the bush. We also have private safari and desert lodges in Namibia and in Eswatini, so you can add a few nights of game drives and dark skies after the beach. Ask our team how to link the two.

When to Go to Cape Town

Cape Town’s summer runs from November to March. It is dry and sunny, with long days and average highs in the low twenties, though hot spells can push much higher. This is when most of our guests come.

Summer brings wind, too. The southeaster, known locally as the Cape Doctor, blows most strongly in January and February. Clifton’s beaches are among the more sheltered spots when it picks up.

From June to November, southern right whales visit the coast. Hermanus, about 90 minutes away by car, is famous for sightings, especially from September to November.

Questions about Cape Town

Clifton and Camps Bay are the most popular beaches on the Atlantic Seaboard. The water here is cold all year, so most people swim quickly and then warm up on the sand. In summer the southeaster can blow hard, especially in January and February. Clifton’s coves are some of the best places to hide from it.

Yes. The Cape Winelands, including Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, are less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town, so they make an easy day trip. Many guests book a driver so everyone in the group can enjoy the tastings. Lunch at a wine estate, surrounded by mountains, is one of the best days of a Cape Town holiday. Our team can help arrange a car.

Security is something our Cape Town homeowners take seriously. Each property page describes the setup at that villa, which may include gated access, alarm systems or monitored security. If security matters most to your group, tell us when you enquire and we will explain exactly what each home offers before you book.

Services vary by home. Many Cape Town villas include housekeeping, and our team can often arrange a private chef, a driver or a guide on request. The property page shows what is included with each stay. Mention any needs in your enquiry, and we will confirm what is available for your dates.

Absolutely, and it is one of the most popular ways to see southern Africa. Spend a week by the sea in Cape Town, then fly on for a few nights at one of our private lodges in Namibia or Eswatini. Our team can suggest an order that makes sense for your dates and help with the details.
