Villa Saphir

Separate guest pavilions give everyone at Villa Saphir a corner of their own, with one big infinity pool to bring the group together. The villa occupies a spot high on a dry, scrubby hillside above a turquoise bay on the east side, with neighboring villas nearby. The sea view is wide, taking in a reef fringed bay and a rocky headland. Several islets sit offshore, and the open ocean lies beyond. At sunset, the light falls over the bay. The property is a group of white Caribbean style pavilions with gray shingle hip roofs and white posts. Gray timber decks link them. Some walls are clad in dark gray slate stone and hung with round porthole mirrors, and a slate framed gate marks the entrance.

Inside, bright white rooms have vaulted white timber ceilings and pale stone look tile floors. Scandinavian style chairs and black pendant lamps keep the look clean. The open plan living area, kitchen and dining for about 10 all open to the deck.

The long infinity pool has turquoise water and wide entry steps, and it runs along a large gray timber deck. Loungers line the deck. A covered pavilion with daybeds faces the bay and the islets. Nearby, a slate walled outdoor lounge offers white sofas. At night, the pool is lit.

Fourteen guests can stay across seven bedrooms. Six have king beds and one has a double, served by six bathrooms. Several rooms open straight onto decks with sea views. Walk in showers and floating sinks fill the white bathrooms.

On the island's east end, the bay of Petit Cul-de-Sac is quiet, with Grand Cul-de-Sac next door. The area feels secluded, close to the eastern coastline. A short hop away in Petit Cul-de-Sac, Villa Ressac stands out for a long pool with stepping-stone pads.
