Bourgueil Château Rental Loire Valley
Bourgueil is a quiet wine town in the west of the Loire Valley, between Tours and Saumur. The wine is red, from Cabernet Franc. Houses are built of tuffeau, the soft pale stone you see all along the Loire. In the middle of town is a covered market hall. Out past the edge, it's vines, woods and the river. Our château here has nine bedrooms and sleeps up to 18.

How far is Bourgueil from Tours and Saumur?
Tours is east, around 45 minutes by car. From Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, just outside it, the TGV gets to Paris in around an hour. Saumur is the other way, around 25 minutes, with its castle up above the river. Either is an easy day out. Tours airport has only a handful of flights.
Which châteaux are nearby?
Plenty, and close. Ussé, said to have inspired Sleeping Beauty, and Langeais are around 20 to 30 minutes away. Chinon is around 20 minutes and Azay-le-Rideau a bit further. Villandry, the one with the gardens, is around 30 minutes. Fontevraud Abbey, where Eleanor of Aquitaine is buried, is around 20 to 25. Keen cyclists can do some of it by bike.
Is it good for a large gathering?
