Villa Golfe

Villa Golfe is a long, low stone house under umbrella pines, with navy shutters and an old olive tree in the gravel forecourt. Everything happens on one level, and most of the rooms open straight onto the lawn and the pool.

The living room is the heart of it. Glass walls slide back, so the white sofas inside and the rattan daybeds outside become one big space in summer. A stone feature wall, a dining table for eight and a sleek black kitchen with stone counters keep things contemporary. There's a breakfast bar too, under brass pendant lights. Outside you'll find a row of teak loungers by the pool, and two separate dining tables under umbrellas among the palms. Gassin is the hill village above the Saint-Tropez peninsula, on the Riviera side of France. It's a good fit for families with older children, or two or three couples who want a quiet base close to the coast.
