Eygalières Mas Rentals in Provence
Eygalières sits on a low hill at the eastern end of the Alpilles. At the top are the ruins of its old keep. You get there up lanes of honey-coloured stone, and the view from the top is olive groves first, then the white hills. Just outside, alone in a field, is the little Romanesque Chapelle Saint-Sixte. Go at sunset. Our two mas have six and seven bedrooms and sleep up to 18.

How far is Eygalières from Saint-Rémy?
Close, around 15 minutes by car, along quiet lanes through olive groves and orchards. That puts you near Saint-Rémy's markets and Glanum without being in the bustle. Cavaillon is about the same distance the other way, and Avignon around 35 minutes. You'll want a car for all of it.
Can we walk into the village?
It depends on the house. Ask, and we'll say how far each mas is from the centre. The village itself is easy on foot once you're there, though the lanes up to the keep are steep. In summer, early morning or evening is the time to wander, when the stone isn't too hot.
What's nearby?
Saint-Rémy and Les Baux-de-Provence, the village on a rock spur with its ruined castle, are both close. Arles, with its Roman arena, is around 45 minutes. And the Alpilles themselves start at the edge of the village, so walks begin from the door. In summer some paths close on high fire-risk days.
