Ramatuelle Villa Rentals in France
Ramatuelle is the village on the hill above Pampelonne, a ring of old stone houses wrapped round the slope, with vineyards running down from it almost to the sand. It's the commune Pampelonne actually belongs to, though plenty of people think of the beach as Saint-Tropez's. Up in the village it's quieter, all narrow lanes, bougainvillea and a little square with plane trees. Our two villas have five to seven bedrooms and sleep up to 15.

When to go
The south has its moment from June to September. July and August are the hottest and busiest; June and September bring the same warm sea with fewer people.
Before you go
What guests ask us most before a stay in Ramatuelle.
How far is Ramatuelle from Saint-Tropez?
Close. On a quiet day it's around 15 minutes by car from Saint-Tropez, through vines and pines. Summer's another matter. In July and August the peninsula roads crawl, at weekends especially, and in the evening when everyone heads out to eat. Plenty of guests leave the car at the villa then and take a taxi.
Which beaches are nearby?
Pampelonne, around five kilometres of sand on the open sea, is just below the village. Parts are lined with beach clubs, others are public and calmer. Further south there are smaller coves around Cap Camarat and towards L'Escalet, rockier and good for snorkelling. A short coast path links several of them.
Can we walk into the village?
It depends on the villa. Villas here are often out among the vineyards, so you'll drive the few minutes up and park below the old village, which is largely pedestrian. From there you walk, uphill and up steps. By late afternoon the square at the top is in shade. Ask, and we'll say how far each villa is from the centre.
