Casa Sampiero

Casa Sampiero curves along a hillside above a Corsican bay, a living-roof house of stone and concrete that seems to follow the line of the land. Below it, an infinity pool mirrors the sky, and terraced lawns are planted with blue Agapanthus. Across the water, a town lights up after dark.

The living room is soft and generous, with a long grey sofa under three woven pendant lights and a fireplace that opens to the terrace. Glass doors fold back so lunch can move outside to a table for twelve with the bay in front of you. The kitchen is sleek and dark, with a long oak breakfast bar and a wall of wine bottles behind glass. As a luxury villa rental in Corsica, it feels quietly special.

Casa Sampiero sleeps ten guests in four bedrooms, each with a king bed, and has five bathrooms. Bedrooms are the most colourful rooms in the house: pink leaf wallpaper and a red headboard in one, botanical blue in another, teal palms and a yellow coverlet in a third. Bathrooms are calm in clay plaster and pale stone, with a deep built-in tub and walk-in showers.

Outside, a covered terrace wraps the house under concrete columns, with loungers and wire chairs, and indoors there is a small gym. Corsica's wilder face of France is all around you. It's a house for two families, or a group of friends who like design as much as the view.
