Flamands

Flamands is Saint-Barthelemy’s longest beach, a generous sweep of pale sand on the island’s northern shore where low surf and shallow turquoise water make it the most family-friendly of St. Barths’ celebrated coastlines. The beach is backed by a small collection of luxury hotels and villas set among tropical gardens, and the area retains a quiet, unassuming character that contrasts pleasantly with the high-octane scene at Saint-Jean. The hills above Flamands offer some of the island’s finest residential positions, with villas commanding panoramic views of the beach and the Atlantic beyond. Sunset from the elevated positions here, with the ocean turning gold and the beach below glowing amber, is one of St. Barths’ most quietly spectacular experiences.
